We’re having a meeting for all interested parties, to discuss the route, logistics, dates and other aspects of the Arnhem Land trip.
The meeting will be for anyone who is interested in coming along by motorbike or 4WD, for all or part of the trip, or for anyone who would like to contribute to to fund-raising for the work of our friends in the top end. If you’d like to be involved in any way at all, we’d love to see you at that night.
The meeting will be at 8:30pm, Monday 2 March. If you’d like to come, add a comment to this post, and I’ll email you the address.

Seems that the new aluminium bash plate I spotted back in December has gone into production. The finished product looks great, with good protection for the drain plug, countersunk bolts on the bottom, and great coverage on the front.
UPDATE: I’ve received word from jnsengineering that the cost to ship to Australia is $45 for one, and $50 for two or three. Anyone around Melbourne interested in sharing the shipping costs, let me know via the comments.

The trip itinerary is finally nailed. I spent the weekend with my friend and collaborator, Support-Driver-Andy, to work out the route and the stops. One of the nice things about the trip is that we have 2, 3 and 4 week options for people who can’t be there for the whole thing. We have at least one person flying in to Alice Springs at the end of week one, and we might have one or more fly back to Melbourne from Mt Isa at the end of week three.
Take a look at the updated Crazy Idea page for details.
